Gombs – Eat to Live

If you have not yet heard of Dr. Joel Fuhrman, it is time to check him out. He is frequent guest on Dr. Oz and regularly appears on public broadcasting stations around the country. He is a doctor and researcher who has come out with an eating plan designed to fight diseases such as diabetes and cancer and to life with vitality and energy. His diet plan that he calls a nutritarian diet, is filled with the good foods that many of us love anyway. Once I heard the foods on his plan, I thought that it would be a great way to introduce some nutrition into my diet in a flavorful way.

He coined a word to help people remember the main foods to be eaten daily on his plan – “Gombs” – the letter of gombs stand for greens, onions, mushrooms, bean/berries, and seeds/nuts. Incorporate these gombs foods into your diet daily for a healthy nutritious eating plan that supports good health and vitality.
